Masked men ambush, kill ASP in lady, children’s presence
The Rivers State Police Command has launched an investigation into the murder of an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), Chris Josiah, who was ambushed by five masked men and shot to death in the presence of his lady friend and her children, at the Obeama Community area of the state.
According to a Situation Report (SIT REP) sighted by Julianafrancisnews.com, the incident happened on June 28, 2022, at about 10:17 PM.
Following the murder of the ASP, the State’s Commissioner of Police, Mr. Friday Eboka, has ordered a thorough investigation into the incident.
It was also learned that Eboka has drafted operatives across Oyigbo Local Government Area, hoping to fish out the gang behind the violence in the area.
It was further gathered that Josiah, who was attached to Afam Division, was ambushed as he was about to drive into his lady friend’s house at Obeama Community by Assemblies of God Church by five masked men, who opened fire on him.
The ASP was shot several times at close range, right in the presence of his lady friend, Chidinma Amadikwa, 42, and her two children. Homicide detectives recovered that visited the scene of the incident and recovered 24 empty shells of AK47.
It states: “Josiah attached to Afam Police Division was ambushed as he was about driving into his lady friend’s house at Obeama Community by Assemblies of God Church by five masked men who opened fire on him. The scene was immediately visited by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) and his lifeless body was met in his Lexus 300 SUV. And 24 empty shells of AK47 ammunition were recovered. His Tokarov Pistol breech No. 49116315 with four rounds of 9mm ammunition was stolen along with his phones. His lady friend, Chidinma Amadikwa, 42, who was also in the car with her two children, sustained no injuries but lost her phones, three Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cards, and a bag containing her sales for the day to the hoodlums. The corpse has been deposited at the mortuary for autopsy while efforts are on to track the hoodlums through the stolen phones.”
