NSCDC Special Female Squad visits The Akran of Badagry

The Special Female Squad (SFS), of the Nigeria Security And Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Command, led by its Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Corps DSC Aga Ada Bridget, on the 6th of August 2022 paid a courtesy call on the paramount traditional ruler of the Badagry Kingdom, Oba Claudius Dosa Akran, De Wheno Aholu Menu-Toyi 1, the Akran of Badagry.
The visit to the royal father is in furtherance of the familiarization exercise, embarked upon by the SFS of the NSCDC, Lagos State Command, to all relevant stakeholders, Government institutions in the state.
This is in line with the directives of the Commandant General (CG) of the NSCDC, CG Ahmed Abubakar Audi, on improving security and safety strategies at the grassroots level, across the country.
The Command’s SFS was well and warmly received by the Iconic Monarch together with the Baales, through the spokesman of the Ancestral Kingdom, Chief Micheal Olorundami Avoseh, the Baale of Topi Community.
According to the press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of the NSCDC, Lagos State Command, ASCI Abolurin Oluwaseun Olumide, DSC Agada Ada Bridget during the visit succinctly, seized the opportunity to state the purpose of the establishment of the Squad, which include to provide safety and security amongst our school children and act as school safety vanguard, amidst other pressing security needs at the grassroots.
She also said,” the protection and safety of lives and properties, at the grassroots is very pertinent to the Squad to effectively discharge its mandates.
She added: “The visit was also one of the proactive and tactical measures of the Command to inform, familiarise and assure the traditional institutions of adequate security and safety of school children and all citizens of the state.”
The Baale of Topi Community, Chief Micheal Olorundami Avoseh, who received the Squad on behalf of the Iconic Royal Father, the Akran of Badagry and other Chiefs extolled the Squad, for gallantry and selflessness, in discharging their duties and functions.
He further said: “The Corps should be commended for this wonderful initiative, which has trained and empowered women to perform such rigorous duties and urged the Squad to be up and doing in protecting women and children throughout the state.”
He also assured the Squad of the Royal Father’s blessings, which include excel and triumph in all its operational endeavours in the state.
Finally, Commandant Eweka Okoro, avowed his steadfast commitment to improving the security and safety of schoolchildren and all citizens against violence, cultism, sexual and drug abuses and other untoward crimes, at the grassroots level across Lagos State. He also pledged his support to ensure sustainable and robust synergy between the Squad and all relevant stakeholders, traditional and government institutions in the state.BEWARE All Rights Reserved.
