CP Dankwara

The Edo State Governor, His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, on the 21st of November 2022, urged the Commissioner of Police, Mohammed .A. Dankwara, newly posted to the state, to exhibit a high level of professionalism as the 2023 General Election approaches.

Obaseki stated this when Dankwara paid him a courtesy visit at the state Government House, Dennis Osadebe Avenue, Benin- City.

During the visit, the CP appreciated His Excellency for the privileges accorded him to officially pay a courtesy visit to him.

He also thanked the Governor for the good working relationship between the State Government and the Police Command. He appealed to the Governor for a continued synergy and collaboration between the State Government and the police command, as it was with his predecessor.

While responding, His Excellency appreciated him for finding out time to visit and encouraged him to use his professional prowess to ensure increased synergy with the State Government and other Security Services in the state. He reiterated the need for the Police to remain neutral and exhibit a high level of professionalism as the state approaches the 2023 General Elections.

He urged the new CP to ensure that the tempo and operational strategies employed by his predecessor be maintained or increased to ensure that the security stability of the state remains intact and all personnel of the State Command remain neutral during the Up-coming General Election.

He further stated that during the last yuletide season Edo State for the first time in a while enjoyed a crime-free celebration and hopes that the Operational strategies emplaced by the new Commissioner of Police will give the state similar or better results.

The number one citizen of Edo State further briefed the CP on the working methodologies of the State Government in availing the state with some dedicated telephone lines for complaints through the State Command and Control Center in the city, that he also wants to extend Camera Networks for wider coverage, particularly around the city and the major highways.

He also gave exposé that, the street lighting system is to be extended to more areas, so as to ensure that, the city is properly illuminated at night in order to improve nightlife and economic activities.

Also in attendance were the following dignitaries; Barr Osarodion Ogie, the secretary to the state Government (SSG), Oluwole Iyamu, the Honourable Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of Edo State, Col Kole Omomia (Rtd), the commandant of Edo State Security Network, DCP Dantawaye Miller Gajere, DCP Olaware Oluwole, ACP Kevin Zuokumor, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, ASP Jennifer Iwegbu.
