
Operatives of the Zamfara State Police Command have rescued six women from suspected terrorists and also saved a year-old baby along the Zurmi-Jibiya axis of the state.
The Zamfara State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), a Superintendent of Police, Mohammed Shehu, while speaking on the issue, said that on the 25th of November 2022, Police Tactical Operatives in collaboration with a vigilante group acted on intelligence information regarding the abduction of six women and a one-year-old child by bandits terrorist at Kadamutsa Village of Zurmi Local Government Area on 24th November, 2022.
Shehu said: “The Police operatives mobilized to the location where a search and rescue operation was conducted along the Zurmi-Jibiya axis, leading to the unconditional rescue of all the victims unhurt. The victims were taken to the hospital for a medical check, debriefed by the Police detectives and handed over to their families.”
The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, Kolo Yusuf, while commending the Police operatives and vigilante group for the successful rescue operation, congratulated the victims for regaining their freedom, and reiterated the Command’s continuous determination to rid the state of criminal activities.
