Citizens and residents of Imo State can now heave a sigh of relief as Esther Child Rights Foundation berths in the State.
The none for profit organisation, known for its advocacy on gender-based violence and other human rights violations, already has two offices in Lagos State.
The Executive Director of the organisation, Ms. Esther Ekwem, who is from Imo State, decided to hearken to the yearnings of her people, who had repeatedly urged them to come to the state to fight for vulnerable people, especially women, and children.
According to Esther, there are other nongovernmental organisations in the state, but they are few and far between, with many farther in distance from the desperate people crying for intervention.
She further explained that on the 29th of April, 2023, the organisation will officially launch its presence at Mbano in the state, with the office opposite Eziama Osuama Okai Trasfarma by Ezumoha Road, Anara Isiala Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State.
One of the key people that will be working with the organisation is a Consultant Psychologist Counselling, Apostle Ifeanyi Chukwu Ekwem.
Esther said: “My mission and passion is to help the people of Imo State and extend the help to Anambra and Enugu states. In Mbano, there is no human rights organisation, except at Owerri. But people are going through a lot in Mbano. My goal is to ensure that the less privileged should be able to get justice. Imo, Anambra and Enugu states should know that we are here to help in seeking justice for them.”
