The Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 2 Police Command, Onikan, Lagos State, Mohammed Ali Ari has charged the Commissioners of Police in charge of Lagos and Ogun States to ensure adequate and water-tight security within their jurisdictions ahead of the planned strike, protest over the hardship following fuel subsidy removal.

According to a statement signed by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, a Superintendent of Police, Hauwa Idris Adamu, Ari during the intense meeting stated that it was within the constitutional right of the citizenry to embark on strike and to protest peacefully but any form of breakdown of law and order must not be tolerated from any group of persons or individuals while assuring law-abiding citizens to go about their lawful businesses without any fear of molestation, intimidation, and harassment.

This was also as the AIG warned criminal elements to relocate from Lagos and Ogun states as the long arm of the law will catch up with them as soon as possible if they failed to relocate.
