
The Chairperson of Police Officers Wives Association (POWA) Anambra State Chapter, Mrs Bolanle Adeoye penultimate Friday led POWA Executive in the State to pay a courtesy visit to the State Commissioner of Police.
The Chairperson who congratulated the Commissioner on his posting to Anambra, one of the most vibrant States in the country, pledged the support of POWA in tackling the security challenges facing the State.
The Chairperson who introduced members of her Executive and wives of Senior Officers who accompanied her intimated the Commissioner of Police of the need to make POWA Vocational Centre built and equipped by a notable philanthropist, Prince (Engr.) Arthur Eze, functional with a view to equipping women in the State with vocational skills to earn a living.
The Chairperson sought the support of the Commissioner of Police and his Management Team in realising this objective and also for other projects in the pipeline.
Responding, the Commissioner of Police, CP Aderemi Adeoye expressed his gratitude for the visit. He commended Prince Arthur Eze for his bold move in laying the foundation for empowering women through POWA. He assured that the Command will support POWA in ensuring that the facility is maximally utilised for the benefit of society.
He enjoined POWA members to provide needed succour at home for their husbands to enable them to excel at their job of providing security
for the people of Anambra State.
