One among six sisters kidnapped for ransom is feared to have been killed just to send a strong message to the family to quickly raise the N60m demanded as ransom.

This was even as different social media handles in Nigeria were buzzing with many people accusing security operatives of sleeping on the case and demanding the rescue of the girls.

Indeed, the Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi, who over the past months had become very visible and active on X Space, has come under fire concerning the matter.

An X Space user, Bashir Ahmad@BashirAhmaad, said: “I join fellow concerned Nigerians in urgently calling on the @PoliceNG through its PPRO @PrinceMoye1 to acknowledge and respond to the unfortunate incident involving the kidnapping of Najeebah and five of her sisters #NajeebahAndHerSisters more than a week ago. The information shared by a family member @Adamu_Asiya_ this morning indicated that the kidnappers have tragically killed Najeebah as a warning and demanded a N100 million ransom for the release of the remaining victims. We implore the Nigeria Police to prioritize this case and deploy all necessary resources to safely rescue the remaining victims.”

Amnesty International Nigeria@AmnestyNigeria is also perturbed by the delay in rescuing the young ladies.

The human rights group said: “Amnesty International is deeply concerned over the failure of the Nigerian authorities to stem the tide of kidnapping for ransom, which has left millions of Nigerians feeling increasingly unsafe: #Najeebahandhersisters.”

Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi@Princemoye1, stated that everything, especially police operations, cannot be shared on XSpace.

He added: “For your information, the police and other security agencies have been on the matter. Don’t allege security operatives wrongly, rather you ask questions, and you will be guided and informed. Ask questions and drop allegations or speculations.

“Let the family members or you relate with us codedly. Let them reach out to me on my line, and drop a message there. We have been working on it, but we need some info. We will try our best possible to emplace all necessary measures to rescue them unhurt. But we need to get some info please.”

The sisters were said to have been killed about two weeks ago.
