The Nigeria Police Force has been plunged into mourning, following the murder of four policemen by suspected members of terrorist groups.

It was gathered that the group believed to be members of Boko Haram and ISWAP attacked the police quarters on the 2nd of February 2024 and killed four policemen.

According to information from the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Intelligence Department, Borno State, the report was received from Supol in charge of the Nganzai Police Division.

A source further said: “On the 2nd of February 2024, at about 11:13 pm,  Boko Haram and ISWAP terrorists attacked police quarters at Gajiram town in Nganzai Local Government Area, firing sporadically.

“As a result four policemen died on the spot, comprising two inspectors and two constables. One sergeant Ya’u  Ahmed, is missing in action. The corpses have been evacuated to the military hospital Nganzai.”

Our reporter contacted the Force spokesman, Muyiwa Adejobi on Saturday concerning the attack, to confirm the attack and also to find out if any arrests had been made. However, as of press time, he still had not responded to the message.
