Fresh information has revealed that Ruth Okezie, who stole her madam’s baby girl and disappeared, has abandoned the child at Alade Market in Lagos.

According to Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, said that the house girl abandoned the baby in the market and absconded following intense manhunt and pressure from the police.

It will be recalled that the distraught family members of the baby shared Okezie and the baby’s pictures on social media, calling for help to apprehend the fleeing lady and rescue the baby.

In the social media report, Okezie was said to have disappeared with the baby on the 3rd of February 2024 between the hours of 1: am and 2: am.

But the latest reports received showed that the baby had been found and retrieved, while Okezie is yet to be seen.

Further information received by the police says that Okezie was planning to sell the baby for N800,000 to an already waiting buyer.

Hundeyin took to his XSpace to state: “Due to intense manhunt and pressure from the police, the buyer in the early hours of today abandoned the baby in Alade Market, Shomolu. The baby was promptly rescued by the police.

“The baby has since been handed over to her parents after they positively identified her. Efforts are still on to apprehend the buyer who is currently on the run.”
