Human rights activist and public affairs analyst, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, has appeal to Nigerian youth to use the 2020 Youth Day celebration to think inward on how they will positively contribute to nation building and actualise the Nigeria’s dreams, hopes and aspirations.
Ezekwueme said: “It is pertinent for our youth as future leaders to properly and adequately equip themselves spiritually, academically, skilfully and economically for the great task of contributing immensely towards nation building.”
He opined that the Nigerian youth should be in vanguard, waging war against Covid-19 pandemic, corruption, cultism, thuggery, electoral fraud and examination mal practices.
He added: “It is incumbent upon the youth to use their numerical strength, experiences and exposure to bring positive impact in the society through creative innovations that will make them job creators, not job seekers.”
Furthermore, he noted that the Nigeria youth should wisely utilise his or her majority position to participate actively in every periodic election by voting for people of impeccable integrity in order to make positive change.
“It is of prime importance for our youth to eschew vices, mediocrity, avarice, nepotism and embrace virtues, meritocracy, altruism and patriotism. It is important to note that vibrant, hardworking, honest and God fearing youth creates a healthy, wealthy, prosperous and progressive nation,” said Ezekwueme.
