The Nasarawa State Police command in its fight against criminals has arrested a suspected kidnapper identified as Abdulkarim Zakari for being among those who allegedly kidnapped Cironman Fulani at Arugbadu village of Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area and collected N5 million as ransom.
According to the Police, the suspect’s share was a million naira plus, but when he was arrested, only a sum of N547,000 believed to be part of his share of the ransom was recovered from him.
The Command’s spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ramhan Nansel said that on the 27th of October 2024, at about 11:30 am, police operatives attached to 38 PMF Akwanga in collaboration with men of the Nasarawa Eggon Division arrested one Abdulkarim Zakari of Konba village, Wamba Local Government Area of Nasarawa State in connection to a case of kidnapping undergoing investigation.
He added: “Upon interrogation, he confessed to being part of the syndicate that kidnapped Ciroman Fulani at Arugbadu where they collected a ransom of N5,000,000 and was given his share of N1,200,000.”
The Commissioner of Police, CP Umar Shehu Nadada has ordered a manhunt for the other fleeing members of the syndicate and also commended the officers for sustaining the onslaught against criminals in the state.
