Suspect: How we used tinted glass cars to fool security guards, steal from bank customers in Delta

-

The Delta State Police Command said it has arrested two middle-aged folks, who specialised in parking tinted glass vehicles around bank premises and then would later dispossess bank customers of their money.

The Delta State Police spokesman, a Superintendent of Police, Edafe Bright, who in interviewed the suspects in a video, urged Nigerians, especially Delta State citizens to be, “wary of those who stay opposite the banks, mostly in tinted vehicles and wait for customers who withdraw huge amounts of money, and then trail them and wait for one moment of carelessness from them.”

According to Bright, these suspects also make use of master Keys to open doors and steal their victim’s money.

Bright further said: “Hear the Confessions of these two suspects we arrested. I addressed them as PAPA. They are 50 years old and 51 years old. We got Intel that this gang goes to a bank, waits outside the bank and then targets customers who must have gone inside the bank to withdraw large sums of money.

“We got Intel and started gathering our intelligence until we eventually arrested them in Asaba here. As we interview them, they are going to tell us their modus operandi. “

Bright: Papa, what is your name?

Suspect: My name is Osadadowa Goodluck

Bright: Okay,  how old are you

Suspect: I park in front of Provindous bank along inpopla road. I was inside my car with my friend here, so as we were waiting for bank customers to come out of the bank, that was when the police came and surround us both.

Bright: Okay, so the customers wey una dey wait for to come outside the bank wetin be una plan, what kind of operation do you do?

Suspect: We use master key, maybe to follow the customer, maybe if the customer park, maybe go to buy something, we will now use master key to open the car and take the money inside

Bright: Okay, so wetin dey determine the bank wey una go dey wait for these customers?

Suspect: Is the banks that is along the road

Suspect: It’s tinted because we were inside the car maybe watching for customers and maybe the security of the bank may not notice that somebody is inside of the car

Bright: Ok so you dey do am so that police or security will not quickly understand your motive

Suspect: Yessir

Bright: Ok before we interview the second suspect this is their file that they use to file their master key, because they always go with a master key that has the shape of a T that they use to trail their target, victim maybe when they park their vehicle leaving money that they would withdraw from the bank, they use the master key to open it, carry the money that they put inside the vehicle and runaway. We want to interview the other suspect now, Papa what is your name?

Bright:  Ok lemme just ask this question, how much is the highest amount wey una don succed collect from people?

Second suspect: It’s two hundred and fifty thousand (N250,000)

Bright: Two hundred and fifty thousand. Ok, so do you usually break into their vehicles or open their vehicles?

Second suspect: We open the vehicle

Bright: So your master key can open all the vehicles?

Second suspect: Not all the vehicles

Bright: So the ones that your master key cannot open what do you do?
