Celebrates With Vulnerable Children At Christmas, Institutes Literary Club

By Ololade Ajayi

In a heartwarming display of compassion and generosity, DOHS Cares Foundation visited Brainy Kids Home, a haven for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in the Alimosho Community in Lagos State, on Saturday, December 28th, 2024, to celebrate the Christmas season with them through donations of food and Toiletries.

It also instituted a literary club named “Club Therapy,” a Biblitherapy club that uses literature to address societal ills.

The Visit began with DOHS Cares Founder, Ololade Ajayi, sensitizing the children about sexual and gender-based violence and an interactive session, before proceeding to engage in a drama session that reinforced the importance of breaking the cycle of abuse.

DOHS Cares Foundation is known for its commitment to rescuing at-risk children from abuse situations and placing them in care homes such as Brainy Kids where they can thrive free of hostility.

In his appreciation remarks, the Chief Executive Officer of Brainy Kids Home, Mr Adekunle Mafe, revealed that the foundation’s mission was to ensure underprivileged children have access to quality education and shelter. Therefore, he pledged the home’s readiness to fully engage in the club therapy activities, which will entail Mentorship on Sustainable Development Goals and therapy through Literature.

DOHS Team members also reaffirmed their commitment to positively influencing and mentoring the children through Club Therapy whose objective is to launch rockets of hope into mental spaces overcrowded with trauma.

The visit was filled with smiles, laughter, and moments of joy as the children eagerly engaged with the visitors, through games and music, creating lasting memories for both parties.

The visit is the third edition of the DOHS Orphans and Vulnerable Children initiative, which visited Hope at Orphanage and Royal Diamond Orphanage Home in 2022 and 2023, respectively.

DOHS Cares Foundation stands as a symbol of hope to vulnerable children, making a difference with one donation and heartfelt visit every Christmas season.
