The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Kanayo Uzuegbu, officially decorated 92 newly promoted senior officers of the Command on January 8, 2025.

These officers, recently elevated to their next ranks by the Police Service Commission on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, include twenty (20) Chief Superintendents of Police (CSP), eighteen (18) Superintendents of Police (SP), and fifty-four (54) Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSP).

Addressing the officers during the ceremony, CP Uzuegbu congratulated them and emphasised that the promotion should be considered a call to greater dedication, responsibility, and discretion in discharging their duties.

He encouraged them to let the elevation serve as motivation for increased diligence and productivity.

Command management team members, including DCP Olasoji Akinbayo, in charge of Operations, DCP Adebowale Lawal, in charge of the State CID, and ACP Hope Isiani Okereke, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Department of Finance and Administration, also congratulated the officers.

They collectively admonished the newly promoted personnel to remain committed and professional and to uphold the integrity expected of their new ranks.

Speaking on behalf of the newly promoted officers, CSP Chidozie Eggbath Okebugwu, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Abakaliki Road Division, expressed gratitude to the IGP for recommending them for promotion and to the Police Service Commission for approving it.

He also thanked the Commissioner of Police and his management team for their support and guidance. CSP Okebugwu assured the gathering that the promoted officers would uphold their trust, remain dutiful, and strive to exceed expectations in their new capacities.
