…stepfather’s friend defiles the girl under the guise of easing childbirth
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin, said a 32-year-old stepfather, Samuel Alfred, residing in the Igbo Elerin area of Lagos State, has been arrested and arraigned after sexually violated his daughter and later impregnated her.
According to the police, Alfred started violating the child when she was 11 years old and then got her pregnant when she was now 14 years old.
It was further alleged that Alfred’s friend, identified as Obi Ikechukwu, 21, convinced the minor that for her to have an easy childbirth, it would be better for him to have sexual intercourse with her and thereafter did just that.
Hundeyin described the case as one of conspiracy and defilement.
He explained that it was transferred on the 21st of February 2025, at about 4:30pm, from Okokomaiko Division to Gender Unit, Lagos State Police Command Ikeja.
He stated that the report was brought to the police by the 30-year-old mother of the child.
Hundeyin said: “The complainant stated that her husband has been having sexual intercourse with her daughter since the girl was 11 years old and sometime in October 2024, he did the same and got her pregnant.
“The second suspect, Obi Ikechukwu, has sexual intercourse with her while pregnant on the pretext that the act will ease childbirth. The two suspects were arraigned in court 9 Ogba and they are remanded in Kirikiri correctional centre while casefile duplicated and sent for Directorate of Public Prosecution’s (DPP) Legal Advice.”
Similarly, on the 18th of February at about 3:30 pm, a case was transferred from the office of DSVA to the Gender Unit Lagos State Command through a referral letter from the DSVA to the office of the Commissioner Of Police Lagos State Command.
The case was reported by the mother of a 12-year-old girl.
The woman told the Police that her daughter was defiled by 57-year-old Agbaraojo Wasiu.
The complainant alleged that the alleged perpetrator defiled her granddaughter on the 4th of February 2025, and threatened her not to reveal it to anyone unless she would die.
“The perpetrator was arraigned at Ebute-Metta Magistrate Court Oyingbo on 5th of March 2025, and remanded at Kirikiri prison, while the case was adjourned till 9th of April 2025 for DPP advice.
