The Commandant, AIG Patrick Adedeji Atayero, called a high-level security summit at the Commandant’s Conference Room on 29/04/2025 in a clear attempt to increase security around the Nigeria Police Academy.
The Nigeria police academy management staff, the commissioner of police, Kano state CP Ibrahim ADAMU Bakori, the Squadron Commanders of 9 PMF and 52 PMF, the Area Commander of Wudil, and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Wudil Division were among the important participants in the meeting.
Throughout the summit, the Commandant stressed how crucial it is for police units entrusted with protecting the Academy to maintain constant vigilance and operational discipline. He specifically tasked the squadron commanders with making sure their mobile men are always present at their assigned beats, cautioning that any failure to discharge their duty could render the Nigeria Police Academy Vulnerable to security breaches after taking the team for on-the-spot Assessment.
All attending officers were also given instructions by the commandant to improve intelligence gathering, strengthen interagency cooperation, and take proactive steps to avert possible threats. In keeping with national policing standards and the Academy’s dedication to providing top-notch law enforcement training, he emphasised the need for a coordinated and strategic approach to security.
This summit demonstrates the Academy’s proactive approach to security issues and its commitment to creating a safe environment that supports aspiring law enforcement officers’ training.
