NSCDC uncovers illegal mining sites in Lagos

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSDDC), Lagos State Command, Eweka Edenabu Okoro, has warned perpetrators involved in illegal mining to desist from such a dastardly act which may shut down the economic prosperity of Lagos State.

The illegal mining site was discovered on Thursday, 15th September 2022 at about 10: am at Ginti in the Ijede axis of Ikorodu, Lagos.

The miners were involved in illegal mining from a large hectare of land, where telecommunication masts and power lines are planted to supply quality services to millions of Nigerians, living in Lagos and a few neighbouring states.

A team of officers led by Commandant Eweka Okoro, also discovered about three caterpillars, suspected to be used by the miners, to perpetrate the evil act at the state.

Finally, the Commandant, warns perpetrators of these inimical acts, to desist from the such dastardly act, which may shut down the economic prosperity of millions in Lagos State and its neighbouring states.
