In a move aimed at strengthening internal accountability and professional ethics, the Nigeria Police Force has commenced a disciplinary review of 151 senior police officers.
Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said that the officers, all holding the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police and above, are appearing before the Force Disciplinary Committee (FDC) over various pending disciplinary issues.
The review session began on Monday, 14th July, and is scheduled to continue until Friday, 25th July 2025, at the IGP Smart Conference Hall, Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The Force Disciplinary Committee plays a critical role in upholding the standards of the Nigeria Police Force by reviewing allegations of misconduct and ethical breaches among senior personnel.
The officers under review have been drawn from commands and formations nationwide, ensuring a thorough and transparent process in line with existing police regulations. Final recommendations will be made to the Police Service Commission following the proceedings.
According to Adejobi, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, underscored the importance of discipline and professional conduct, stating that the Force will not tolerate any form of indiscipline. He reiterated the administration’s resolve to foster integrity, professionalism, and public trust within the ranks.
Adejobi affirmed that the ongoing disciplinary review reflects the NPF’s commitment to an accountable and service-driven institution, where the rule of law is upheld internally.
