By Emmanuel Udom AND Duala Mabin

Officials of the Nigerian Immigration Service have arrested 12 illegal immigrants from Cameroon at Okuku in Yala local government area in Cross River state.

It was gathered that the immigrants were arrested by some eagle-eyed NIS service officials at the border communities between the LGA and Cameroon. Some of those arrested were: Joe David, Mwango Dami, Lius Kum, Anita Berinyusi, and Betran Nbakoa.

Others were: Prince Tom, Elangooe, Davis Eloppese, Peter Minyele, and Edward. A credible source at the Yala divisional police station told our correspondents that when the immigrants were questioned, they were not able to convince the immigration officials of their mission to Nigeria, nor hand over genuine documents to the officials. According to our source, they have since been handed over to the police for proper documentation and further investigations.
