Hon. Ikenga Condemns Brutal Killings in Umualaoma, Arondizuogu, Visits Ideato to Mourn, Consoles Bereaved Families

-

In a heartfelt response to the recent spate of violence that claimed the lives of innocent residents in Umualaoma and Arondizuogu, Hon. Ikenga Imo Ugochinyere, the representative of Ideato Federal Constituency, has publicly condemned the gruesome attacks, describing them as “heartless killings in cold blood.”

The lawmaker, visibly shaken by the tragic news, arrived in Ideato to mourn with bereaved families and offer his condolences. In an emotional statement issued earlier today, Hon. Ugochinyere pledged solidarity with the affected communities during what he termed “this darkest hour,” stressing the urgent need for justice and comprehensive security measures.

“My heart bleeds as I mourn with the people of Umualaoma and Arondizuogu, whose loved ones were brutally murdered,” he said.

Hon. Ugochinyere called on state and federal authorities to act decisively in protecting local communities, apprehending the perpetrators, and implementing proactive strategies to prevent future attacks. He proposed a multi-layered security framework involving local intelligence gathering and tighter coordination with law enforcement.

In a bid to bolster grassroots security, the lawmaker advocated for the creation of a vigilante squad comprising community members, police, DSS, and military forces to respond swiftly to threats. He also emphasised the need for financial empowerment of the local government to sustain long-term security operations, invest in essential infrastructure, and deploy response teams effectively.

“We will not rest until justice is served and our communities are safe,” Ugochinyere affirmed, pledging continued efforts to amplify the voices of affected families.
As the Ideato region reels from the tragedy, residents welcomed Hon. Ugochinyere’s presence and message of hope, with many expressing the need for urgent reforms to avert further bloodshed.
