Police Inspector Detained for Alleged Defilement of 10-Year-Old Girl

A Police Inspector attached to the FCT Command’s Department of Operations has been detained for allegedly defiling a 10-year-old girl in the Mabushi area of Abuja.

The suspect, identified as Inspector Bassey Timothy (AP/NO 277469), was taken into custody on the evening of September 4, 2025.

According to a police report sighted by SecurityNewsAlert.com, the victim’s father, Alhaji Jibrilla Mohammed Indimi, reported the incident at the Mabushi Police Station at approximately 10:30 PM. He stated that at about 8:45 PM that evening, Inspector Timothy allegedly dragged his daughter into a car, forcefully undressed her, and sexually assaulted her.

At the time of the alleged assault, the inspector was reportedly on duty, assigned to a private individual.

Following the report, both the suspect and the victim were taken to the Muhammadu Buhari Police Hospital for medical examinations. Inspector Timothy has been detained pending a full investigation into the matter.
