The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully apprehended five notorious banditry suspects and recovered a significant cache of arms and ammunition following a coordinated intelligence-led operation.
The operation, spearheaded by the Commander of the Scorpion Squad, was carried out between 20th and 28th September 2025. The suspects, who have been linked to multiple kidnapping incidents across the North Central, North West, and North East regions, were tracked to Nasarawa State, where they were arrested.
The arrested individuals are: Abdullahi Garuba a.k.a. Alhaji Ore, male, 40 years, Yusuf Inuwa a.k.a. Alhaji Dabunda, male, 59 years, David Kaika a.k.a. Baba, male, 29 years, Baba Imaji, female, 36 years and Ibrahim Nasiru a.k.a. Pepper, male.
Items recovered from the suspects include: 2,186 rounds of live 7.62 x 39mm AK-47 ammunition, two AK-47 rifles with obliterated serial numbers, one locally fabricated pistol with two live cartridges and five operational motorcycles used in criminal activities.
All suspects have confessed to their involvement in various crimes and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations. Efforts are underway to apprehend other members of the gang who remain at large.
Commending the courage and professionalism of the officers involved, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ajao S. Adewale, reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to eradicating crime and ensuring the safety of residents in the FCT and surrounding areas.
