38 Abducted Worshippers Freed in Kwara, Governor Credits Tinubu’s Intervention

-

Thirty-eight worshippers abducted during an attack on Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, have regained their freedom after days of coordinated operations by security forces.
Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq announced the release on Sunday, attributing the breakthrough to what he described as President Bola Tinubu’s “hands-on approach” in directing efforts to secure the victims.

According to the Governor, President Tinubu personally led the intervention, even cancelling his scheduled trip to the G20 Meeting in South Africa to focus on security breaches in Kwara and Kebbi States. The President also ordered heightened deployments to Kwara, underscoring his commitment to the safety of Nigerians.

The Governor expressed gratitude to the Office of the National Security Adviser, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigerian Army, the Nigeria Intelligence Agency, and the Nigeria Police, which deployed four new tactical teams to Kwara on the President’s directive.

He also commended members of the security forces, religious institutions, thought leaders, and citizens of Kwara for their support and solidarity throughout the ordeal.
“The release of the abductees is a testament to the resilience of our security agencies and the leadership of President Tinubu,” AbdulRazaq said.

The announcement was made in a statement signed by Rafiu Ajakaye, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
