The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ola Olukoyede, has called on Nigerians to match their excitement and renewed hopes for 2026 with a firm commitment to zero tolerance for economic and financial crimes and all forms of corruption.
The call was contained in a New Year message to the nation delivered in Abuja on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, according to the Head of Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Dele Oyewale.
Olukoyede said while the euphoria that comes with the new year is uplifting, it should also serve as a wake-up call for citizens to embrace accountable conduct in their personal and public lives in order to build an enviable and sustainably great nation.
“As we welcome the new year with excitement and renewed hopes, let us renew our commitment and channel our energy to the paths of accountability and zero tolerance for corruption,” he said.
The EFCC boss expressed optimism about Nigeria’s future, noting that the country would eventually break free from the shackles of poverty and deprivation. He stressed that the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is anchored on restoring Nigeria’s greatness through integrity, accountability and collective responsibility.
“We can make Nigeria greater. This is the pivot of the Renewed Hope agenda of Mr President. Nigeria will rise again,” Olukoyede added.
He concluded by wishing Nigerians a happy, more fulfilling and prosperous 2026.
