The Ogun State Police Command has decorated eighteen newly promoted senior officers in a ceremony held at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta, in line with the commitment of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olukayode Adeolu Egbetokun, to professionalism, motivation and the reward of excellence within the Nigeria Police Force.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, the decorations followed the promotion of the officers from the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP). The event was marked by joy and appreciation from the promoted officers, their families and colleagues.
Among those decorated were CSP Olorundare Bolanle, Divisional Traffic Officer, Agbado, who emerged as the most senior among the promotees and delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of her colleagues; CSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, Officer-in-Charge, General Investigation, State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Eleweran; and CSP Kamorudeen Olabisi, Divisional Police Officer, Ifo Division.
The ceremony reflected a shared sense of pride and recognition of the officers’ steadfast service and dedication to the Nigeria Police Force and the nation at large.
Speaking at the event, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, admonished the newly promoted officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by the Inspector-General of Police through increased diligence, discipline and professionalism in the discharge of their duties.
He reminded them that a higher rank comes with greater responsibility and accountability, while expressing confidence that they would continue to contribute meaningfully to the safety and security of lives and property across Ogun State.
