Enugu Police Command Ends 2025 with Strategic Conference, Promotions

-

The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State Command, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, has commended officers and men of the Command for their resilience and commitment in combating crime throughout 2025, which he said ensured the relative peace and security enjoyed across the state.

Speaking at the Command’s last monthly and end-of-year strategic conference held on December 31, 2025, at the Senior Police Officers’ Mess, Agbani Road, Enugu, CP Giwa urged officers to remain vigilant and prepared in the New Year.

He cautioned against any form of laxity that could create room for security breaches, stressing that avoidable mistakes would not be tolerated in 2026.

The conference reviewed policing activities of the past year and featured the decoration of newly promoted senior officers.

Among those elevated was Hope Isiani Okereke, who rose from Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP). Others promoted from Superintendent of Police (SP) to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) include Lebeke Grace, Kelvin Ugwu, Emeka Nnorom, Chidobe Chime, Iche Chukwuemeka, Clifford Ogbu, and Anialu Kenneth.

Charging the newly promoted officers, CP Giwa emphasised the need for greater dedication, professionalism, and diligence in their new roles.

He noted that their promotions reflected the confidence reposed in them by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, NPM, PhD, who recommended the promotions, and the Police Service Commission, which approved them.

Responding on behalf of the promoted officers, DCP Hope Isiani Okereke expressed gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Service Commission.

He assured that the officers would rededicate themselves to duty and continue to serve diligently to justify the trust placed in them.

The event, according to SP Daniel Ndukwe, Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, marked a significant close to 2025 and set the tone for renewed commitment in 2026.
