Kogi Government Deploys Surveillance Drones to Tackle Insecurity

-

The Kogi State Government has deployed surveillance drones to bolster security operations and enhance intelligence gathering across the state.

Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo on Monday unveiled two high-capacity PH20 surveillance drones at the 12 Brigade Headquarters, Chari-Maigumeri Barracks, Lokoja. The deployment, according to the governor, is part of his administration’s broader strategy to combat insecurity through the adoption of modern technology.

Speaking at the event, Ododo reaffirmed his government’s commitment to strengthening the state’s security architecture by embracing cutting-edge tools capable of supporting security agencies in preventing and responding to criminal activities.

He noted that the use of advanced surveillance technology aligns with global best practices and would improve real-time monitoring, intelligence gathering and rapid response to security threats across Kogi State.

The drones are expected to support ongoing security operations by providing enhanced aerial surveillance and actionable intelligence to security personnel, as the state continues efforts to curb criminality and ensure the safety of residents.
