Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested a 42‑year‑old man, identified as Musa Zuberu, for alleged drug peddling. The arrest took place on February 11, 2026, at about 1:40 p.m. during a routine patrol by the Crack Tactical Squad along Camp 1, Iva Valley, Enugu.
A search conducted on the suspect led to the recovery of a large quantity of weed suspected to be marijuana, including synthetic variants known as “Canadian Loud” and “Colorado” (“Colos”), as well as other suspected illicit drugs.
Police spokesperson SP Daniel Ndukwe confirmed the arrest in a statement issued on February 12, noting that investigations are ongoing to track down Zuberu’s accomplices and dismantle drug networks across the state.
The Command highlighted that this operation follows recent arrests of five other suspects, including a dispatch rider, in separate raids where large quantities of tramadol, methamphetamine (locally called “Mkpuru‑mmiri”), and marijuana were seized.
Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, reiterated the Command’s commitment to combating drug peddling and its associated crimes in Enugu State. He warned individuals involved in such activities to desist or face the full weight of the law.
