352 Enugu Police Officers Promoted to ASP Rank

-

The Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has decorated 352 officers promoted from the rank of Inspector to Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP II).

Securitynewsalert.com gathered that the promotion, approved by the Police Service Commission on the recommendation of the Inspector-General of Police, followed a recently concluded Departmental Selection Board screening exercise conducted at Zone 13 Zonal Command in Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State.

According to the Enugu State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Daniel Ndukwe, the Commissioner of Police, Mamman Bitrus Giwa, decorated the officers on Tuesday, February 18, 2026, during a ceremony held at the Senior Police Officers’ Mess in Enugu.

Addressing the newly promoted officers, Giwa congratulated them and urged them to justify their elevation to the rank of superior police officers through discipline, dedication and professionalism. He warned that any acts of misconduct or negligence in the discharge of their duties would be taken seriously.

The commissioner also reminded the officers that they must complete a two-year probationary period with unblemished records before their promotion can be confirmed to the substantive rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police.

Speaking on behalf of the promoted officers, ASP Abuchi Ugwuagu expressed appreciation to the Inspector-General of Police for recommending them and to the Police Service Commission for approving the promotion. He assured the leadership of the force of their commitment to meeting expectations and carrying out their duties diligently.

Among the newly promoted officers are Augustine Michael, the commissioner’s official driver; Chukwu Sunday of the State Criminal Investigation Department; and Sylvester Anamali, Pius Umushike, and Akuabata Nnamchi of the Police Public Relations Department.

The ceremony was attended by members of the Command’s management team, Divisional Police Officers, other senior officers, as well as spouses, family members and friends of the promoted officers. #https://securitynewsalert.com/
