The Ogun State Police Command has officially handed over Abigeal Nsikak, a popular TikTok creator known as “Mirabel,” to the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development following her recent online allegations of sexual assault.
Securitynewsalert.com heard that the move comes as part of a formal investigation into claims Nsikak made on social media, which caused significant public interest and concern over the past several days.
Following her arrival at the command headquarters, Nsikak was escorted to a medical facility to undergo forensic examinations. These tests are a standard component of the investigative process to verify the claims and gather physical evidence.
According to a statement released on Wednesday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Oluseyi B. Babaseyi, sighted by securitynewsalert.com, the complainant has been fully cooperative with law enforcement officials during the initial phase of the inquiry.
“Upon her visit to the police station, she was received and taken to a medical facility for necessary examination to verify her claims,” Babaseyi stated. “She has continued to cooperate with investigators as due process progresses.”
Recognising the sensitive nature of the case and the potential need for psychological and social support, the police opted to release Nsikak into the custody of the Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development.
The ministry has now undertaken full responsibility for her care, providing an environment geared toward welfare while the police continue their criminal investigation.
Under this arrangement, the Ministry has provided formal assurances to the Command that Nsikak will be made available for further questioning or legal proceedings whenever required.
The Ogun State Police Command has urged the public and social media users to exercise restraint. The “Mirabel” case has already generated intense speculation across TikTok and X-Space, which officials worry could hamper the integrity of the investigation.
“The Command assures the public that the matter is being handled with professionalism, sensitivity, and diligence,” the spokesperson added. “Members of the public are urged to refrain from speculation and allow the investigation to run its full course.”
Abigeal Nsikak, known to her followers as Mirabel, gained widespread attention after posting emotional content alleging she had been a victim of rape.
The Ogun State Command took interest in the case shortly after the videos went viral, eventually leading to the current formal proceedings at the Eleweran headquarters in Abeokuta.
