Lagos Police Boss Inspects Recruitment Exercise, Sets Deadline for Applicants

-

The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, visited the Police College, Ikeja, on Thursday to personally assess the ongoing 2025 Police Constable recruitment screening.

With the exercise entering its final stages, the CP’s visit aimed to ensure strict adherence to official guidelines and maintain the integrity of the selection process. The screening, which kicked off on March 9, 2026, serves as the primary gateway for new entrants into the Nigeria Police Force.

During his assessment, CP Fatai held talks with representatives from key monitoring bodies, including the Police Service Commission (PSC), the Federal Character Commission (FCC), and the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC). The presence of these organisations is intended to guarantee that the recruitment remains transparent, credible, and free from external influence.

CP Fatai noted that the current screening structure aligns with the strategic directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu. The IGP’s vision focuses on building a Force rooted in meritocracy and professional excellence from the point of entry.

“The Command remains committed to a process that is fair to all. We are ensuring that only the most qualified candidates proceed to serve the nation,” Fatai stated.

The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the level of coordination between officials and partner agencies. However, he issued a stern reminder to all prospective candidates who have yet to present themselves for screening.

The exercise is officially scheduled to close on Saturday, April 18, 2026. CP Fatai emphasised that applicants who fail to appear by this stipulated date face automatic disqualification.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism throughout the remainder of the process.
