Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) spent about N110 billion during the recent Osun State governorship election.
Speaking during an interview with News Central TV, the singer, who actively campaigned for his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, dismissed reports that the ruling party spent about N60 billion on the election, claiming the figure was significantly higher.

When the interviewer stated, “It is alleged that APC spent about N60 billion on this election,” Davido replied: “It is more than that. I just confirmed today that APC spent N110 billion.”
The singer further claimed that enormous amounts of cash were deployed during the poll, warning that Nigeria would have faced grave consequences had the alleged efforts succeeded.
“If you see the cash. If they had gotten away with that election, then Nigeria is finished,” he said.
Davido did not provide evidence to support the allegation, and the APC had not publicly responded to the claim at the time of filing this report.
The Osun governorship election was marked by allegations of vote buying and cash inducement, prompting the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to deploy operatives across the state to monitor electoral offences. Despite the allegations, Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was declared the winner of the election.
