Network says analyst will no longer appear on its channels, effective immediately

Arise News has announced that political analyst Anthony Kila will no longer appear on its channel, following allegations that he falsified his academic credentials.

In a statement issued by its Editorial Board, the network said Mr Kila, who had appeared on the channel several times as a freelance political analyst, is the subject of an investigative report by Premium Times Newspapers. The report alleges that his entire academic record was falsified.

According to the network, it contacted Mr Kila on October 3, 2026, to put the allegations to him. He reportedly asked for more time to respond, but had not done so ten days later. Arise News said the allegations have since grown more serious.

“In the circumstances, we find that his contributions to the Arise News Channel are no longer tenable,” the Editorial Board stated.

The network said it was unaware of the claims when Mr Kila appeared on its platform. It stressed that it takes matters of credibility and integrity “extremely seriously” and has taken note of the findings of the Premium Times investigation.

Arise News confirmed that Mr Kila will not appear on its networks now or in the future, effective immediately.
