Arase visits Police Academy, directs candidates must be heard, addressed

-

The Chairman of the Police Service Commission and co-Chairman  of the Governing Council of the Police Academy, Wudil, Kano, Dr. Solomon Arase, CFR, retired Inspector General of Police visited the Academy on Tuesday, November 14th 2023, during  ongoing screening of candidates for the 2023 admission, stated that issues raised by these candidates must be addressed.

Dr. Arase while addressing the management of the Academy directed that  there must be a level  playing field for all candidates  and that concerns raised by candidates must be addressed in the interest of fairness and justice.
He said the admission processes must be collaborative of all the agencies that make up the Police Recruitment Board. The Board is headed by the Police Service Commission and has Members from the Nigeria Police Force, the Ministry of Police Affairs, Federal Character Commission and Police Colleges.
The PSC Chairman  noted that scores for the different stages of the assessment must be in tune with best practices and requirements of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board.
He said in places where  there were glitches  in the Computer based tests, it should be addressed so as not to deny some candidates the opportunity of a level playing field.
The PSC Chairman  also demanded that every candidate must be allowed to go through all the selection processes after which the Recruitment Board would decide on numbers for admission based on equality of states. He also made a case for Gender sensitivity and commended the Management of the Academy for the good work they are doing.
