There is palpable tension among security agencies following intelligence reports that terrorists were planning to launch another attack on a correctional centre at the southwest part of Nigeria.

The attack, julianafrancisnews.com heard is going to happen any moment from now.

This information, which was coming just days after the attack on Kuje Prison by a terrorist group, has naturally generated tension among different personnel of security agencies.

Determined to avert the attack, the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba, and other service chiefs had started brainstorming and beefing up security around correctional centre facilities, especially in Ondo and Lagos states.

Security sources told Julianafrancisnews.com that at least 70 militiamen armed with AK47 rifles, along with a cache of ammunition and other sophisticated weapons were going to launch the attack.

It was further alleged that the militia group will be teaming up with another militia group from the Niger Republic for the imminent attack.

The security forces are already apprehensive and believed that some of the militiamen were camping in riverine areas of Ogun, Ondo, and Lagos states, waiting for the call to battle.

The Service chiefs, Julianafrancisnews.com heard, agreed that aside from scaling up security at correctional centres in southwest states, security organisations should be fortified.

Senior personnel of security organisations has been instructed to fortify correctional centres and agencies’ infrastructure close to them at all costs.

The different agencies have also agreed to team up in coordinating a 24-hour watch on correctional centres, and security agencies’ infrastructure and ensure a thorough search of vehicles until further notice.

Joint security forces have also been placed on alert as re-enforcement in case of emergency situations.
