A man who was falsely accused of raping his two daughters has been exonerated following medical examinations that confirmed the children had not been defiled.
The allegations, made by his wife amid domestic disputes, sparked widespread outrage when the story first broke on October 27.
According to sources close to the case, the accusations were rooted in personal differences between the couple. The mother alleged that her husband had sexually assaulted their daughters, prompting immediate public condemnation. However, subsequent medical investigations revealed no evidence supporting the claims.
In light of the findings, authorities have charged the mother with defamation of character. Legal proceedings are currently underway.
The case has prompted reflection among members of the public, including prominent social media commentator Mufti Of Ilorin Online (@Adamthallith), who admitted to having prematurely condemned the man.
“I said hurtful things, believing the story as it was presented,” he wrote. “Today, I deeply regret that. I take back every bad word I said about him, and I sincerely pray that Allah forgives me for my haste and poor judgment.”
The incident has reignited conversations around the dangers of false accusations and the importance of due process in sensitive cases involving children and family.
