The Vice Chancellor of Khalifa Isyaku Rabi’u University (KHAIRUN), Kano, Prof. Abdulrashid Garba and his entourage on the 18th of September 2024, pays a courtesy visit at Police Command Headquarters in Bompai, Kano.
In his remark, the Vice Chancellor said: “We are here to pay you a homage and register our solidarity and also congratulate you on your appointment as CP Kano. We were here during the previous CP and our relationship has been cordial.
“It is a privilege to visit you to strengthen the existing relationship between the University and the Police Command. Furthermore, we must commend your efforts in maintaining law and order in the State, particularly in ensuring the safety and security of the University. Finally, the University is desirous to continue to seek your support and cooperation. Thank you for the warm reception.”
In his response, the Commissioner of Police welcomed the VC and his entourage and emphasised the importance of collaboration between the Police and educational institutions in preventing and addressing crime.
He assured the Vice Chancellor of the Command’s commitment to providing adequate security for the university and Kano at large, especially at this time when the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, launched the Safe School Initiatives. Finally, the CP thanked the VC for the visit and assured them that his door was always open for them.
The visit provided an opportunity for both parties to discuss areas of mutual interest, including crime prevention, intelligence sharing, and community policing.
