The Lagos State Police Command on Saturday announced that it has arrested two people in connection with the disappearance of a 22 years old lady, Ms Ayanwole Oluwabamis, who went missing after boarding a BRT bus at the Lekki area of the metropolis.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alabi, assured members of the public, particularly the distraught family members of the missing lady, that the command would leave no stone unturned in finding out what truly happened to Oluwabamise, who boarded the BRT bus from Chevron bus stop, Lekki, heading to Oshodi on 26th February, 2022, about 7: PM and since then had not been seen.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Mr. Adekunle Ajisebutu, noted that as soon as the report got to the police, investigation into the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of the lady was immediately initiated.

He added: “To ensure a speedy and diligent investigation, the CP immediately directed the State Criminal Intelligence and Investigations Department (SCIID), Panti, to take over the case. In the course of the ongoing investigation and two suspects have been arrested and are currently helping in our investigation. While assuring that police detectives will continue to work assiduously to find the missing lady and bring her abductors to justice, the Command wishes to appeal to anyone with useful information that could help in our investigation to promptly give it to us for further necessary actions.”

Oluwabamis hails from Moba Local Government Area in Ekiti State, is about 5feet plus tall, dark in complexion and speaks Yoruba and English languages well.

Ajisebutu noted this isolated incident notwithstanding, the police command was committed to protecting lives and property of all residents of the State at all times.
