Six Defendants Arraigned For Diversion Of 45,000 Litres Of Diesel Valued N142m

 Six persons have been arraigned before the Yaba Magistrates Court over alleged diversion of 45,000 litres of AGO (Diesel) products valued at N142million.

The defendants are Olugbode Abayomi 55, Ahmad Abdullahi 38, Yahaya Musa 58, Abdullahi Muhammadu 52, Ibrahim Halihu 45 and Adamu Muhammed 58.

The defendants were charged on two counts.

Count one reads: “Olugbode Abayomi 55, Ahmad Abdullahi 38, Yahaya Musa 58, Abdullahi Muhammadu 52, Ibrahim Halihu 45, Adamu Muhammed 58 and others at large between 26th and 27th January 2025, at about 1:pm, at Dangote Refineries Ibeju Lekki, in the Lagos State Magisterial District Conspired among yourselves to commit a felony, to wit stealing and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 411 of the Criminal Law CH. C17, Vol.3, Laws of Lagos State  2015.

It was gathered that at about 1:PM at Dangote, Ibeju Lekki in the Lagos Magisterial District dishonestly took delivery and diverted 45,000 litres of AGO (Diesel) products valued at N142million, property of one Alhaji Bolaji Animashun, thereby committed an offence contrary to section 280 and punishable under section 287 (5) of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2015.

The defendants were accused of on the 4th of March 2025.

The defendants all pleaded guilty.

The presiding magistrate is  E. Kubeinje, while the prosecutor is M. A. Animashaun Esq.

The defendants were granted bail in the sum of N10million with two responsible sureties in like sum, gainfully employed and have tax clearance for three years.

The case was adjourned to the 23rd of April 2025.
