The 4th Brigade, Nigerian Army, Benin City, Edo State has expressed concern over the worrisome increase in ritual activities in the state, allegedly being perpetrated by a cult group called, “Never Broke Again.”

In a document sighted by security-news alert, signed by colonel Diriyai, dated 6th September 2022, it stated that information available showed that some group of boys in Edo State have formed a confraternity called Never Broke Again (NBA).

The army also gathered that the chief priest of the confraternity has tasked its members to target campuses, clubhouses and streets to hunt for young girls for rituals.

The document further states: “ The ritual rites are said to be of various degrees amongst which are the use of female body parts, use of wombs and turning a victim to an insane person among others. In a related development, over 27 ladies were reported to have been used for such rituals in the past weeks by these cult members. The number of dismembered female corpses found in different locations within the Edo State is instructive.”

The document further suggested unit commanders should begin sensitisation of personnel families, especially those within tertiary institutions and other areas to stay alert and be conscious of their environment to avoid falling prey to the hands of these groups.
