The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) on Tuesday re-emphasised its commitment to protecting Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), calling for greater public support in the fight against vandalism.
The call was made at the 2025 National Security Conference and Awards, organised by the National Association of Online Security News Publishers (NAOSNP), held at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island.
The Commandant General (CG) of the NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, was represented at the event by the Lagos State Commandant, Mr Keshinro Adedotun.
Speaking during a panel session under the theme, “Securing and Safeguarding Nigeria’s Economic Resources: A Call To Serve,” Adedotun affirmed the conference’s importance in shaping security discourse and repositioning Nigeria’s security architecture.
He used the platform to issue a public appeal on behalf of the Commandant General.
“The good people of the nation [are urged] to support the Corps in the collective and selfless fight against vandalism of CNAI and other economic resources in the country,” Adedotun stated. He added that the government is actively working to suppress corruption and diversify the economy.
At the event, Commandant General Ahmed Abubakar Audi was honoured with the NAOSNP 2025 Award of Excellence. The award recognised his “All of people approach to the protection of CNAI and resolution of conflicts, suppressing threats and safeguarding the nation’s economic resources.”
