Troops Raid Kidnappers’ Hideout in Kaduna, Neutralise One Suspect

-

Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE (JTF OPEP) have raided a kidnapper’s hideout in Jagindi Kagom village, Jemaa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, neutralising one suspected criminal during the operation.

According to Captain Joshua Atu John, Acting Military Information Officer of JTF Operation ENDURING PEACE, the operation was carried out as part of Operation PEACE SHIELD, an ongoing offensive aimed at dismantling criminal networks within the Joint Operation Area (JOA).

He said that on January 2, 2026, troops of Sector 7, acting on credible intelligence, conducted an offensive clearance operation on identified kidnappers’ hideouts in Jagindi Kagom village. During the encounter, troops engaged the criminals, leading to the neutralisation of one suspect, later identified as Dahiru Adamu Barka, while other members of the gang fled the scene.

Captain Atu John added that Sector 7 troops have commenced a manhunt for the fleeing suspects to ensure they are apprehended and brought to justice.

Commending the troops for the successful operation, the General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander, Joint Task Force Operation ENDURING PEACE, Major General EF Oyinlola, praised their professionalism and commitment to the ongoing fight against criminality. He also called on law-abiding citizens to continue to provide timely and credible information to security agencies to support ongoing operations.

JTF Operation ENDURING PEACE reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on criminal elements and ensuring the safety and security of residents across the Joint Operation Area.
