Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command, Awgu Division, have recovered a Sinotruk truck that was stolen at gunpoint in Delta State.
The recovery took place in the early hours of January 31, 2026, along Ndeagbor Road in Awgu community, Awgu Local Government Area.
According to police reports, the vehicle had been snatched from its driver in Ugwuashi-Uku, Delta State, on January 29, 2026. Acting on intelligence, officers swiftly moved to intercept the truck. On sighting the operatives, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled into a nearby forest. A manhunt for the fleeing criminals is currently underway.
The owner of the truck has been identified, and investigations into the incident have commenced. Commissioner of Police, CP Mamman Bitrus Giwa, psc, urged members of the public, particularly vehicle owners, to promptly report crimes against property.
He reaffirmed the Command’s commitment to safeguarding lives and property across Enugu State.
