EFCC Launches Integrity Club in 18 Potiskum Schools to Tackle Corruption

-

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has inaugurated its Integrity Club outreach programme in 18 public secondary schools across Potiskum Local Government Area of Yobe State. The sensitisation campaign, held from Monday, February 9 to Wednesday, February 11, 2026, is part of the Commission’s ongoing efforts to instil moral values and discourage corruption among young people.

During the inauguration ceremonies, Deputy Superintendent of the EFCC, Jamilu Sale, alongside Inspectors Babakura Galtimari and Salisu Ahmad Muhammad from the Maiduguri Zonal Directorate, urged students to shun activities that could jeopardise their future. They emphasised that as “leaders of tomorrow,” students must avoid lying, stealing, examination malpractice, internet fraud, forgery, and other vices that tarnish the image of families, communities, and the nation.

Sale cautioned against the rising involvement of youths in cybercrime, warning that those engaged in theft, hacking, impersonation, and fraud face dire consequences. He encouraged students to resist temptations, especially with access to smartphones and internet-enabled devices, and to embrace the values of honesty, discipline, responsibility, tolerance, and patriotism. “As Red Eaglets, you are expected to serve as role models to other students in your schools,” he said.

Principals of the participating schools expressed gratitude to the EFCC for the initiative, noting that it would help strengthen students’ moral foundations and guide them toward responsible citizenship.

The Integrity Club was inaugurated in schools, including Federal Government College Buni-Yadi, Federal Government Girls College Potiskum, Moi Muhammad Abali Mega Government Day Junior Secondary School, Government Secondary School Fika, Government Day Science and Technical College Ari Kime, Government Senior Science and Technical College, Government Girls Day Junior Secondary School Kwata, Government Boarding Secondary School Mamudo, and several others across Potiskum.

This outreach marks another step in the EFCC’s broader campaign to build a generation committed to integrity and transparency.
