EFCC Arrests Three in Maiduguri Over Alleged Naira Mutilation

-

The Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested three individuals over the alleged mutilation of the Naira.

The suspects, identified as Adam Muhammad, Muhammad Muhammad, and Bashir Musa, were apprehended following a viral video circulating on social media platforms. In the video, the trio was allegedly seen using a N500 note to clean mucus from their nose.

According to the EFCC, the video prompted an investigation that led to the tracing and eventual arrest of the suspects within the Maiduguri metropolis.

The Commission disclosed that the suspects are currently being held at the Maiduguri detention facility while investigations continue.

The EFCC added that the suspects would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
