Mr Chima, the blind father accused of defiling his 14-year-old daughter, has been arrested after weeks of evading capture.
According to the Advocates for Children and Vulnerable Persons Network (ACVPN), the case was first reported at Makinde Police Station on May 25, 2026.
Despite several attempts, police were unable to apprehend Chima as he was moved to an undisclosed location.
ACVPN stated that its officers remained committed to ensuring justice for the victim, working closely with the Human Rights Unit of Makinde Police Station.
On June 16, 2026, ACVPN officers visited the survivor’s school and, with the cooperation of the principal, devised a decoy strategy to assist police in locating the suspect.
This coordinated effort led to Chima’s arrest at approximately 1:15 p.m. on June 22, 2026.
In a statement, ACVPN expressed gratitude to all who contributed to the case, saying the arrest was the result of “a series of sleepless nights and tireless collaboration” between advocates, law enforcement, and the victim’s school.
