The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has deployed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone 4, AIG Dankombo F. Morris, to Plateau State for a comprehensive operational assessment following recent violent attacks in the Bokkos Local Government Area.
The high-level deployment comes alongside a direct order from the IGP to immediately reinforce security assets in the affected communities to prevent further violence and restore lasting peace to the region.
During a security assessment tour, AIG Morris visited the Kawel Community in the Mushere District of Bokkos Local Government Area, where he engaged in critical meetings with community leaders, traditional authorities, and local stakeholders to evaluate the security landscape firsthand.
Conveying the condolences of the IGP and the Force Management Team to the families affected by the attacks, AIG Morris assured residents of the police force’s unwavering commitment to bringing the perpetrators to justice.
He emphasised that all lawful measures are being actively deployed to apprehend those responsible and prevent further acts of aggression.
To bolster ongoing security operations, AIG Morris disclosed that additional tactical and operational assets have been deployed in Plateau State, with a particular focus on the vulnerable communities within Bokkos, to enhance visible policing and support stabilisation efforts.
The AIG strongly urged residents to remain law-abiding and strictly cautioned against reprisal actions, noting that acts of vengeance would only undermine current peace and security initiatives.
As part of his working visit, AIG Morris also held strategic high-level consultations, paying courtesy visits to the Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Mutfwang, and the Gbong Gwom Jos, His Royal Majesty Da Jacob Gyang Buba.
During these meetings, the AIG reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to maintaining a sustained, collaborative relationship with the state government and traditional leadership to effectively tackle the region’s security challenges.
The Force Headquarters reiterated its dedication to working closely alongside sister security agencies and local stakeholders to safeguard lives, protect property, and ensure public safety across Plateau State. #Securitynewsalert.com
