SFU Unveils Operational Vehicle as Stakeholder Partnership Strengthens Fight Against Fraud

-

The Commissioner of Police, Police Special Fraud Unit (PSFU), Lagos, CP Eloho Edwin Okpoziakpo, B.Sc., MILD, has unveiled an additional operational vehicle donated by one of the Unit’s stakeholders, in a further demonstration of the growing partnership between the Nigeria Police Force and well-meaning Nigerians in the fight against economic and financial crimes.

The donation represents a significant boost to the Unit’s operational logistics and highlights the increasing commitment of public-spirited individuals and corporate stakeholders to supporting the Unit in safeguarding Nigeria’s financial ecosystem.

CP Okpoziakpo described the gesture as a demonstration of the confidence reposed in the PSFU and an example of the positive impact of collaborative policing.

Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, he said the additional vehicle would enhance the Unit’s investigative capacity, improve the mobility of detectives, and facilitate intelligence-led operations across the country. He added that the donation aligns with the strategic vision of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, PSC (+), NPM, to strengthen policing through improved logistics, stakeholder collaboration and enhanced service delivery.

The Commissioner further emphasised that the fight against fraud and other crimes is a collective responsibility, and called on other well-meaning Nigerians, corporate organisations and development partners to continue supporting the Police with resources and credible information necessary to combat increasingly sophisticated financial crimes.

In his closing remarks, CP Okpoziakpo charged officers of the Unit to make prudent and professional use of every resource made available, while maintaining the highest standards of integrity, accountability and discipline in the discharge of their duties — stressing that no form of misconduct or abuse of operational assets would be tolerated.

He reaffirmed the Unit’s commitment to tackling fraud, money laundering and other financial crimes through intelligence-led policing, and assured members of the public that the PSFU remains dedicated to protecting the nation’s financial ecosystem through sustained collaboration with stakeholders and the active support of law-abiding citizens.
