The Nigeria Police Force has dismissed four officers after an orderly room trial found them guilty of extortion, corrupt practices, unlawful exercise of authority, and conduct deemed discreditable to the force.
The officers involved are Inspector Omosebi Emmanuel, Inspector Arishekola Oluwatobi, Sergeant Olawunmi Michael, and Sergeant Ajibade Adegbenga.
Their dismissal was reviewed and approved by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos.
“The punishment of dismissal from the Force was approved. You are to stop their salary/emolument forthwith, delete their names from payroll, and amend your record,” the directive stated.
The police command further ordered that the dismissed officers be arrested, stripped of their warrant cards, and ejected from police barracks if quartered.
“Treat as very important, please,” the Commissioner of Police emphasised in the communication.
This decision highlights the Nigeria Police Force’s ongoing efforts to combat corruption and restore public trust in law enforcement.
